Van Gerwen looks forward to the new season: 'Want to be dominant again and win as much as possible'

Michael van Gerwen plays his first official match as a three-time world champion on Friday evening. As usual the new darts season starts with The Masters in Milton Keynes, where the Dutchman won the last four editions.

''I feel fresh again, had a nice holiday and now I need to make sure I will be sharp this year'', Van Gerwen told Telesport. The world number one can show on Friday if he is sharp again, as he takes on Jonny Clayton in the . Meanwhile, Van Gerwen looks also forward to the rest of the season. The 29-year-old is planning to dominate again on the circuit and hopes to complete his Career Slam. The Champions League of Darts is the only remaining PDC major 'Mighty Mike' has not won yet. ''I want to be dominant again again this year. I need to play well and win as much as possible. Especially the Champions League of Darts, because I have not won that event yet. I woud like to win that tournament.''
