Michael van Gerwen claimed his 3rd European Tour title of the year and the 23rd in his career last night with a win over James Wade. He improved his average every round up until and including the final showing the form he is in at the moment.

In his interview afterwards, Dan Dawson spoke about that average improving and how it was on paper one of if not his best overall tournaments ever and Van Gerwen agreed. He spoke about the other players who push him and said that he has to do something special to beat them.
MVG also gave a word about James Wade and said how he's back on track and consistently playing well again; as well as saying he pushed him all the way in the final.
“I think that was my best ever tournament,” said the Dutchman.
“To average over 110 for three games in a row is special, what more can I do?
“Other players always push me, and I have to do something special to win these games.
“James is back on track and playing consistently well again. He pushed me all the way especially at the start of the game.”
