Michael van Gerwen has set his sights on defending his Premier League title after regaining his World title this past weekend.
This comes after the lineup was announced for the weekly tour starting again in April and he sees it as the ultimate test and one that he wants to use to prove he is the best. He also spoke of returning home and said he’s looking forward to enjoying his homecoming and then he’s going to enjoy some rest before the Masters in February. "I work so hard all year but taking this trophy back home makes it all worthwhile," Van Gerwen said. "I'm going to enjoy my homecoming to the Netherlands and then go on holiday with my family. "It's important to spend time with them now because they have also made sacrifices to make this win possible. "This year I want to win the Premier League again. It is the ultimate test of a player because you have to perform to your best level week in, week out. "For the last five years I came top of the table and showed I am the best player in the world and I'm looking forward to proving it again."
