Waites believes ‘about 90 per cent’ of BDO players will attempt PDC Q-School next year

Scott Waites has for a long time now shunned the prospect of attempting Q-School but after the BDO’s lifting of restrictions he will be massively considering it.
Waites spoke to Live Darts at the PDC Fishing Championship and as well as him, he believes 90 per cent of players will attempt the switch in January.
"It's opened the door completely now," Waites told Live Darts.
"It can only be good for everyone involved.
"I was talking to Barry Hearn and he seems really impressed by it and I think it's a really good move forward from the BDO.
"This is a positive move that I see and it can only be good for the sport."
When asked if he would be tempted to enter Q School, Waites replied: "Certainly, yeah.
"Come January I think you'll probably see about 90 per cent of the lads that play in the BDO go to Q School and have a crack at that."

If it is going to be done to English players, then we are more than entitled to dish the same back when players face off in England. - I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
