Lim on cooking for Bristow and Lowe after initially training as a chef: "John and Eric liked my food back then, no matter what it was"

Paul Lim was announced as the final wildcard entry for the World Seniors Darts Championship on Friday (14 May) and the popular 'Singapore Slinger' will face off with some familiar adverseries.

Still playing in PDC tournaments in the Asian Tour, World Championship and World Cup, Lim is a darting legend who is still playing to a top standard today but it was so much different to start.

He discussed initially training as a chef and how from there, he started playing darts and cooking for the greats in John Lowe, Eric Bristow and Jocky Wilson as a result.

“My darts career started by accident really in London when I was training to be a chef," said Lim to Oche.

“My flatmates got me to go to the pub with them all the time but I’ve never been a big drinker so instead I just played darts.

“I got to a decent level, then played on TV facing the likes of Lowe, Bristow and Jocky. John and Eric liked my food back then, no matter what it was.

“I’m a trained chef in French cooking, so no more rat or snake now! It would have to be only ratatouille!”
