A £100,000 bonus has been pledged should any player make history by hitting two nine-darters at the 2020 PDC World Championship.
This has been done after what has been an exceptional year for nine-dart finishes; where 47 have been hit on the PDC circuit worldwide; with Michael Van Gerwen though hitting the only televised nine-dart finish at the Players Championship Finals.
Seven players have previously hit nine-dart finishes at the PDC World Championship; but there has never been one instance where there have been two. Barry Hearn, PDC Chairman says that it will hopefully bring the best out of players.
"The standard of top-level darts has continued to soar this year and that's been evident in the record number of nine-darters across the circuit," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.
"The World Championship is the perfect stage for bringing the best out of players, and this £100,000 bonus for two nine-darters is another huge incentive for a player to make history at Ally Pally."
