The 2021 European Championship has been been announced to take place as part of a stacked October schedule at the Salzburgarena in Austria.

While a venue that has seen the World Series of Darts Finals and World Cup of Darts in 2020, it has never hosted a European Championship with Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands holding the tournament previously since its inception in 2008.
But now it will welcome the ITV cameras for the first time between October 14-17 soon after the World Grand Prix in Leicester.
Peter Wright is the defending champion having defeated James Wade last year with the qualification done on the Order of Merit on the European Tour with the top 32 players qualifying.
So far, there are two dates confirmed for the European Tour with the Hungarian Darts Trophy kicking proceedings off next weekend.
