Anderson after snatching draw against Wade in Premier League opener: "He thought I was lucky, doubt it son"

Gary Anderson produced a blockbuster 156 checkout to draw with James Wade on the opening night of the 2021 Premier League Darts.

Anderson missed 14 darts at double throughout and believes that it should have been him potentially walking away with a full points haul if missed darts at double hadn't come into it.

"Got the point at the end of the night but I think I gave him it. So many missed darts at double through the game, it could have been a lot easier than that. Listen and learn, don't miss too many doubles," said Anderson post match.

"I reckon I hit at least a treble with every throw which is a good sign. Doubles have been pulling me out of the bin lately and I've made a complete mess of that tonight but scoring is there so I'm happy with that."

"He thought I was lucky, doubt it son. I missed so many darts at double beforehand."

A feature of the opening night of the Premier League were the iPad's showing which players were on which tables. With Anderson spawning table gate at the World Championship, this was of course a topic of discussion.

"I walked up and seen this iPad and saw Wadey, I must be another table. Nice iPad but if they put a photo up it'd be easier. I haven't got my reading glasses," he joked.
