Gary Anderson hit a
nine-dart finish in his second-round match against Keane Barry at
Players Championship 25 on Wednesday. Thanks to the perfect leg, 'The Flying Scotsman' triumphed 6-2 against the Irishman.
The Scot had already thrown an 11-darter and a 12-darter at the beginning of the match, but it appeared he could do even better. At 2-2, Anderson started the fifth leg with a 174 score.
A 180 followed, after which the two-time world champion completed his nine-dart finishes with a 147 finish. He took an unusual route, as most nine-dart finishes are completed with a 141 or 144 finish.
For Anderson, it is his sixth official nine-darter with the PDC. Three of those were at television tournaments. So now Anderson has also thrown three on ProTour tournaments.
