Despite there being four games still to play to finish off the second week of action in the MODUS Icons of Darts League, the winner has already been confirmed in the form of Jason Askew.

Askew sat six points ahead in the standings going into today and with Arron Monk and Andy Jenkins being the only two that could catch him, the task has already been complete.

He started the day by losing out 5-3 to Paul Nicholson which saw the latter who himself has won two Group wins this week come from 2-0 behind to claim the victory.

But he remained on course for the week win with victory over his nearest rival in Arron Monk 5-2 in a great display which saw him average 100 and hit five 180's.

He followed that up with a pivotal second victory over Jarred Cole 5-4 which brought Askew over the line.

In terms of today's group win, Andy Jenkins currently sits atop the standings going into his next game with Paul Nicholson after two wins so far with one less game played so it could be a good end to the week for 'Rocky'.

The Icons of Darts League is a competition that runs on 24 different days from Monday April 6 through to Saturday May 2. Each playing week consists of six players. There are five players on each matchday with one player taking a rest.

Each day consists of four matches for each player with the player with the most wins claiming the group win for that day.
