Heading into the final night of regular Premier League Darts action of the campaign, the equation for Nathan Aspinall is simple. He must reach at least the final.
“I'm happy where my game's at, and I'm not going to give it to Jonny,” said the Asp. Currently sitting in fifth, Aspinall takes on Jonny Clayton in tonight's quarter-final knowing if he loses his playoff dream is over. “I've found something and I played really well at the weekend, probably one of the best tournaments I've played this year and I'm confident."
Both Aspinall and Clayton have never failed to reach the playoffs in their previous Premier League Darts campaigns so one of those records is guaranteed to go tonight. Aspinall says he's going to do everything in his power to ensure that it's not his.
“I'm going to leave everything on that stage on Thursday night, and if I play like I can and like I played at the weekend, I'll take some stopping," says the 31-year-old. “There's a little bit more pressure this time, but I handle these situations quite well and hopefully I handle it very well on Thursday.”
