Borland on keeping Tour Card after European Championship opener: "It's about keeping the form going and see what happens"

William Borland surged past Simon Whitlock to produce on his European Championship debut with a superb win.

Borland missed the opening European Tour despite qualifying due to family reasons but still qualified and is making the most of his chance.

"I enjoyed it very much, obviously a hard game. Simon's a great player and obviously I'm just starting out my career. I'm really really enjoying it and to get these kind of wins, I'm taking it in my flow and continuing to progress so I'm happy," said Borland to Online Darts.

On keeping his Tour Card, it isn't stressing out the young Scot and he just hopes to continue what he's doing.

"I'm keeping an eye on it. Obviously I want to do my family proud. I'm just really enjoying it and I need to keep going. I'm in a very good position now so it's just about keeping the form going and see what happens."

"Years ago as a kid, it was what I dreamed of. I stuck to it and I'm here and I'm enjoying it. It's all experience for me and I'm loving it."
