Dave Chisnall saw off Kim Huybrechts in a thrilling conclusion to the first round at the 2022 World Matchplay which was full of darting dramas and breaks of throw which 'Chizzy' saw as his achilles heel during the tie as he couldn't hold throw for periods.
"Kim (Huybrechts) is a very good dart player and has been playing very well lately so I'm well over the moon. I was getting frustrated a lot but only on my darts though as I thought I played quite well on his. It's just my own darts, 60's and 59's it's frustrating," Chisnall said post match.
With temperatures potentially topping 40 degrees this week, Chisnall said he nearly fainted up on the stage and that it certainly affected him.
"I might lose a few stone tonight, for me it was really hot. I was talking to Kim in the break and he was like it's not that warm up there and I was like wow.
"Only for the towel, I probably could have fainted up there three times but you've just got to get on with it, it's part of the game."
Next up is Gerwyn Price and he is out for revenge after losing at the World Grand Prix in Leicester.
"He'll get loads of boos won't he, everyone should have a fair opportunity, the booing is not my cup of tea. I've got to play a lot better than I did there (at World Grand Prix). It's a tough section, last night was probably one of the toughest. You just play your game, play the board."
