Jonny Clayton will return to the Premier League Darts line-up once again with 'The Ferret' dominant in the league phase last year before losing in the semi-finals.
Clayton though didn't know till Monday morning as one of only a few not to be told beforehand so it was a nice surprise. He faces Dimitri van den Bergh on Thursday in Belfast.
"I'm over the moon to be honest. We didn't know till Monday that I was in so brilliant, it was a short suitcase changeover but we're here that's all that counts," said Clayton to Darts Now.
"Obviously my name was in the mix because it was said on TV and social media. But I didn't know anything until Monday morning, it was a great surprise. I've still got the smile on my face."
As the others, he was asked about the controversy surrounding the picks involved. "It's a difficult one because I'm obviously happy because I'm in, the job is done. I don't mean to sound disrespectful but I don't care about anybody else because my thing is for me to be in. I thought Luke Humphries would have got the nod and then it would've been one of three chances I would have got in. I do feel sorry for Luke but all that counts is that I'm in."
