Clayton on snapping poor record at World Matchplay: "I know that this year I'm playing the best darts of my life"

Jonny Clayton like his World Cup of Darts winning teammate Gerwyn Price who he could face has a poor record at the World Matchplay.

Clayton is still yet to win a match at the World Matchplay whether that is in Blackpool or last year's temporary home of Milton Keynes.

For 'The Ferret' though, a lot has changed in the intervening year since becoming a two time major winner and he will look to use his form to his advantage.

“I’m not really bothered about my record at the Matchplay. I know that this year I’m playing the best darts of my life and I can beat anyone," said Clayton to Red Dragon Darts.

“Just because I’ve never won before that doesn’t mean I can’t do well this year. I’m confident that I will get that first win & even push to win the whole thing. I know I’m capable of it.”
