Cross ranks European Championship triumph among major wins: "It was probably the most important one"

Rob Cross came from nowhere once more to regain form as well as the European Championship title with 'Voltage' once again producing when it matters most.

Cross spoke about that triumph and ranked it among his other major wins recently.

"Out of the four majors I've won not snubbing anything else but it was probably the most important one. I needed a win in my career and from where I've been, it's been tough. It was nice to turn that corner and feel that winning again because you just can't buy it obviously," said Cross to The Darts Show podcast.

Turning point

So what is the turning point for his revival? He said a change in equipment helped.

"I've lost a lot of games this year because I've missed doubles. I've lost them games on my own merit. Since changing the points about six weeks ago, I've noticed my darts aren't turning as much, they're sitting in lovely. I'm scoring heavier and that's given me a bit of confidence."

Making a career of grinding

He also made a comparison with James Wade in that he's won titles not playing his best like 'The Machine'.

"I've probably played my B game, when I won the World's, I was probably on an A game. Wadey has made a career out of it of not playing to the best of his abilities but he's a winning machine."
