Mal Cuming has won the first qualifying tournament for the New South Wales Darts Masters. The 47-year-old Australian can thus return to this World Series tournament from 11 to 12 August.
Cuming, who made his debut at the PDC World Championship as recently as December, beat Dave Marland 5-3 in Friday's final to secure his place in the World Series of Darts tournament in Wollongong.
'The Bull', who lost to Fallon Sherrock at last year's New South Wales Darts Masters, averaged 93 and threw five 180s to win in a high-quality match.
Friday's NSW Darts Masters Qualifier preceded the opening weekend of the DPA Pro Tour, with the first four Pro Tour events taking place from 18-19 February in Warilla.
