Daryl Gurney had a hard time swallowing losing a leg in the all-important match against Luke Woodhouse at the
Dutch Darts Championship. The incident happened after the end of the fourth leg.
After three legs, Woodhouse held a 2-1 lead against "Superchin. Gurney then missed six chances to make it 2-2. Woodhouse punished these misses by hitting double 18 to make it 3-1. That did not please Gurney at all, as he bellowed the words "f*cking sh*t" as he stepped onto the oche.
Gurney eventually suffered a sensitive 6-4 defeat against Woodhouse. It was a sensitive defeat as the Northern Irishman was in a battle with compatriot Brendan Dolan to determine who would go to the
World Cup of Darts with Josh Rock.
Gurney needed to win the match against Woodhouse to still be in the race for a spot on the Northern Ireland team. So that didn't work out. Later, Dolan would also lose his match in the second round, but this defeat thus remained without consequences for 'The History Maker'.
