Debutant Askew produces impressive start to Icons of Darts League campaign

Jason Askew has made an excellent start to his MODUS Icons of Darts League campaign by easing past Paul Nicholson in a 5-1 win as the second week of action begins.
Son of former World Championship semi-finalist, 'Diamond' Dave Askew; he has been making his own name for himself and he could further that this week in the Icons of Darts League.
He hit a 91 average with 45 percent on the doubles punishing Nicholson's faltering on the doubles which saw him hit only one of his twelve darts at doubles.
This included a 128 checkout from Askew as well as three 180's on the scoring side from Askew who will next face Arron Monk.
Andy Jenkins also started his second week in the league with victory seeing off Rob Collins coming from 4-3 down to edge out the debutant.
The Icons of Darts League is a competition that runs on 24 different days from Monday April 6 through to Saturday May 2. Each playing week consists of six players. There are five players on each matchday with one player taking a rest.
Each day consists of four matches for each player with the player with the most wins claiming the group win for that day.
