"Finally the belief is there that I can win a major" - Ricky Evans after reaching quarter-finals of UK Open

Ricky Evans has qualified for the quarter-finals of the UK Open for the first time in his career. 'Rapid' was too strong in the last 16 with 10-6 win over Luke Woodhouse.

"I've had a long day, I was in the venue as early as 8:30 this morning to warm up," Evans opened. "Still, there's more in the tank. Finally the feeling is there that I can win a major, now I have to do it effectively."

Evans would love for that first major victory to come right at the UK Open. "It's my favorite tournament after the World Cup. I love the whole concept of this tournament. I enjoy coming to play here every year."

The 33-year-old Englishman will take on Rob Cross in the quarter-finals. "You just have to believe it's possible this weekend. So I don't care who I have to play against, after all, at this stage of the tournament they are all clappers. If I reach my best level, I have a chance against everyone anyway."
