16-year-old German talent, Fabian Schmutzler is in his first Development Tour weekend but already has his first title.
Schmutzler claimed Event Ten defeated Marcel Gerdon 5-2 after seeing off Alex Flohr (5-0), Geert Nentjes (5-4), Nico Kurz (4-2), Owen Roelofs (4-3), Christian Hokse (4-0), Simon Schreier (4-0) and Phil Ende (4-1).
He is now up to fourth in the Order of Merit and only £300 behind Geert Nentjes who inhabits the World Championship spot currently setting up a thrilling conclusion tomorrow.
While Rodriguez run was ended by Gerdon in the semi-finals with his Tour Card and Grand Slam spot confirmed earlier. There will be two more events to conclude proceedings tomorrow.
