Germany became the last country to qualify for the quarter-finals of the World Cup of Darts. Gabriel Clemens and Martin Schindler recorded a hard-fought 8-6 victory over Poland.
It was a victory that sent the crowd into raptures in Frankfurt with Clemens being the hero in the end.
After Poland missed multiple break darts to start the tie, Clemens pinned double 20 to put the Germans ahead at 2-1.
They edged ahead again at the interval with a 104 checkout as little separated the two teams.
On return, Ratajski silenced the crowd for parity with a 102 checkout at 5-5. Kciuk missed the bull for an 89 checkout only just and the luck was in for Schindler.
A 116 checkout from there at 6-6 put them on the brink of victory at 7-6 and he sealed it after Kciuk failed to send it all the way to a decider.
