Daryl Gurney,
Martijn Kleermaker and
Matt Campbell are the latest players through to the second round at the
Belgian Darts Open which will take place on Saturday in Wieze.
The main result saw Kleermaker send an out of sorts Ross Smith, the current European Champion with 'The Dutch Giant' taking full advantage.
Kleermaker could not have wished for a better start to his match against Smith. Thanks to a 15-darter and a 118 finish, 'The Dutch Giant' took the first four legs of the match.
Smith then came back to 5-3, before 'Smudger' hit 70 to make it 5-4 as well. Smith started the tenth leg, but Kleermaker managed to prevent a deciding leg with a great 110 check-out.
Earlier in the evening, Matt Campbell and Daryl Gurney also reached the second round of the Euro Tour tournament in Wieze. Campbell handled Callan Rydz (6-3), while Gurney was too strong for Dylan Slevin with the same figures.
