Harris hit 40 percent of doubles which accounts for 6/15 compared to 17 percent for Smith which was 4/23 showing the disparity in the doubles which meant the win for the New Zealand ace. This was despite only an average of 87 and only hitting 1 180 compared to four from his opponent.
Wehder marked a brilliant European Tour debut with victory after seeing off Dennis Nilsson in a 6-3 win. This means that the Host Nation Qualifier will get the chance to play in front of his home crowd which will be rapturous tomorrow night.
Meikle also performed well in seeing off Brett Claydon averaging just less than 90 in a 6-3 victory where he hit four 180's.
'The Barber' has impressed at times on the Development Tour and will hope to take that up to the big stage this weekend.
