Gerwyn Price took to the oche during his defeat against Gabriel Clemens and halfway through put ear defenders on to block out the crowd noise in a highly discussed incident.
Wayne Mardle believed that it shows frailty as well as a lack of confidence while
Damon Heta responded to a comment which said that it's why he doesn't get the support of the darting public.
But for the Aussie ace, he sees where Price is coming from and that he too would potentially do something if he was getting abused constantly and asked fans for perspective if they were in his shoes.
"People singing offensive chants, people trolling his daughters online, whistling at important moments isn't on," said Heta.
"I Just find it bizarre that we as players can have anything said to us and there's no boundaries on what is said when we stick up for ourselves or have had enough and act out in the heat of the moment, we are the bad ones and are never forgiven."
"All these people who say he's this and that about him would probably act out worse than wearing a set of ear muffs on stage which I've found out were pre-approved by the PDC so he actually didn't do anything wrong."
"Maybe put yourself in his shoes and think that if you were being abused constantly while trying to do your job and your family were being trolled online for years on end what you would do."
