Hopp must fear for chance of World Championship spot in PDC Europe Super League

Max Hopp did not start well during the second stage of the PDC Europe Super League on Monday and now has to fear for his chance at a place at the PDC World Darts Championship through this route.

During the second phase of the PDC Europe Super League, sixteen German players compete for a place in the last eight.

The sixteen players are divided into two groups of eight and on Monday and Tuesday, the players will play a total of twice against the other players in their group.

Hopp did not get further than two victories in his group and is therefore only seventh in Group B. This group is led by Lukas Wenig, who remained unbeaten on Monday. Dragutin Horvat, Kai Gotthardt and Niko Springer are also currently in the top four of this group.

In Group A, Martin Schindler, Christian Bunse and Franz Rötzsch all managed to win five games. Florian Hempel is there virtually in fourth place, on leg difference above Nico Kurz. The latter managed to win the German Super League, the predecessor of the PDC Europe Super League, in the past two years.

Format

The four best players from both groups will advance to the final phase of the PDC Europe Super League. From this stage on, all are knockout matches. The quarterfinals will be played over best of 17 legs on April 21. The four remaining players will play their semi-finals over the best of 19 legs on April 22, followed by the final over best of 21 legs.
