Hopp sees high expectations in his own country differently: "It offers me extra opportunities"

Max Hopp is only 23 years old but has been around for quite a long time in darting terms and he spoke about the pressure as a result from his own country for him to succeed even at the age of 16.

"I have indeed never known otherwise. However, I shouldn't complain about that pressure and handle it professionally. It also offers me extra opportunities; with many exhibitions and therefore also extra income, ”said Hopp in an interview with RTL7 Darts.

In the past, Hopp had to bear the pressure of Germany all by himself. “Now, however, there are still some very talented players with Martin Schindler, Gabriel Clemens and Nico Kurz. However, the situation is not comparable to the Netherlands or United Kingdom; where you have around 20 professional players. The popularity of darts in Germany is comparable to those countries; but we have far fewer top players, so the pressure will soon be on those players, ” Hopp concludes.
