The World Series of Darts Finals are set to take place at AFAS Live next weekend.
Kim Huybrechts is hoping to produce a good display.
Huybrechts discussed what he thinks the difference is with an upturn in form lately.
"I've been playing reasonably good the whole year, had some good averages but why that happened I could never get the win. You've still got to win games to climb on the rankings and that was the problem for me. This week it's clicked a bit for me," said Huybrechts on The Darts Show podcast.
Super Series
He was also asked about his thoughts on the new Super Series format and the multiple tournaments in a week.
"It's a bit positive and negative both ways. If you're on good form and there's more tournaments, then you can have some good results and if you're in a bit of a dip then four or five tournaments is a lot. On the other side, if you only have two tournaments, if you're playing really good you want to continue that game."
Mindset
Speaking of qualifying for the World Series, he also spoke on that and said that he considered it more practice than a proper tournament.
"When I played the World Series, I told my manager, it's not a ranking event and I'm going to consider it more of a practice tournament. When you play the deciding game you want to win it so I gave it my all. By qualifying for that, it was a huge confidence boost for the next day, a semi-final. That's very important for the mind."
Top 16
While he believes that the top 16 is still where he belongs in the Order of Merit.
"I think I've lost three years to be honest. I was very down with the loss of my parents. It's not only the personal and private life, you can see it in the professional life. I was top 16 for six consecutive years and I still have the feeling I should still be there."
