Peter Wright faced one of the toughest draws possible during Saturday's action at the
Baltic Sea Darts Open seeing off James Wade in the end in Kiel but believes that a harder draw is better to put him in a positive head space.
"When you get a draw like that, you've got to have your head ready for either player which is a good thing. If you get past either Raymond or James Wade, it gets you ready for next round mentally," said Wright to
Dartnyheder.dk.
"I wasn't nervous actually, I just believed in my darts. I felt I had lots more in me, I felt that I could hit a nine (dart finish) tonight, a bit of nerves stops you doing that sort of stuff.
But he also revealed that he was distracted during the tie by the curtain at the left side of the stage not being there and being able to see people.
"I could see people walking back and forwards and it was at crucial times."
"Even James as left handed, he noticed himself. I think PDC Europe are dealing with that."
