"I genuinely am starting to believe that this is the beginning of the end": Webster and Davies on future of Gary Anderson

During their chat on the Love the Darts Podcast, Abigail Davies and Mark Webster also discussed the future of Gary Anderson with both puzzled about where he goes next barring the fact he will have to put the effort in to keep going in his darting career.

"I genuinely am starting to believe that this is the beginning of the end for Gary Anderson I really do, he played in 18/30 of the ProTour events, he's down at 22 and ok he will be at the Masters but the Grand Slam is the one he has pinpointed. Not being in that last year really hurt him," said Davies on the Love The Darts Podcast.

"I don't think he will make the effort to go to European Tour events so that's another avenue cut off. I can't see him getting in big events. He often contradicts himself with his love and his passion, his enthusiasm for the game. He often talks about how he doesn't love it and doesn't have that enthusiasm, well that doesn't look like it on the stage because when you've just hit a 140 when you needed a 180 to leave yourself on a finish, that's not the impression we got."

"He can't rely on the ProTour, he's not in the World Matchplay at the minute and he hasn't missed out since he came across even in his debut year. You need to win an event but he's behind, the only way he will get in the Euro's is if he's back in that rolling 16. I can't see him going in the qualifiers, I hope we're wrong as there was some glimpses there," added Webster.
