Few people managed to win a match against
Luke Littler in recent months.
Owen Roelofs however, is one of them.
Roelofs was a guest on the podcast 'Double Top' recently, where the 21-year-old Dutchman told his story. "I've played against him six times already and won twice," Roelofs said. "Just last year I beat him. It's nice to tell friends and acquaintances, especially when they hear that Littler just played the World Championship final. They do look up at that."
"It's tremendously impressive what Luke has accomplished over the past few months," Roelofs continued. "But really, I don't really care what he does. I'm just looking at myself. I'd obviously like to achieve the same as him, although that's not really realistic at the moment."
Roelofs is in the second year of his Tour Card this year. However, he already made his debut at a major in 2020. "Thanks to my good results on the Development Tour, I was allowed to participate in the UK Open," he said. "That was a very nice experience, unfortunately I lost to Berry van Peer without a chance."
The first Players Championship of the new year was not a success for Roelofs in Wigan on Monday however. In the opening round he went down 6-4 against Mario Vandenbogaerde.
