''It's not a physical sport... They don't have a leg to stand on" - Noa-Lynn van Leuven debate reaches prime time Dutch TV talk show

Dutch TV celebrity Johan Derksen stood up for Noa-Lynn van Leuven on Monday night during Vandaag Inside. Last weekend, two players quit the Dutch women's team because they do not want to play on a team with any transgenders.

Derksen doesn't understand what Anca Zijlstra and Aileen de Graaf are worried about. ''It's not a physical sport, of course,'' he states. ''They don't have a leg to stand on. It's all in the regulations. Period, don't give in to it either." Van Leuven does indeed comply with the regulations of the Dutch and international dart association.

Then the former footballee turned journalist shared another sneer at the ladies. "If you put those darters in a row: they shouldn't go to De Slimste Mens ((The Smartest Person in the World") Dutch quiz show ed.))," Derksen joked.

Özcan Akyol, who was a guest on the broadcast, raised the question of whether there was any difference at all between darts for men and ladies. According to René van der Gijp, there is: "Yes, sure."
