Martin Schindler has started well at the International Darts Open. The German defeated his compatriot Jan Dueckers 6-1 in the first round and now meets Joe Cullen.
Schindler achieved over 97 average versus his opponent's barely 69. "I'm definitely not dissatisfied with my performance," he reflected post-match. "It's never easy to play against someone you don't know well. But I did what was necessary tonight."
"It was especially important to stay focused throughout the match," Schindler continued. "I obviously noticed that my opponent was below his level and then it's easy to get distracted, fortunately I didn't do that."
A duel with Joe Cullen awaits in the next round. "Hopefully I can raise my level against him, which will be necessary. I lost to him at the Belgian Darts Open, so it's time for revenge," Schindler laughed.

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
