King delivering parcels for Amazon during Coronavirus pandemic

Mervyn King may have reached five PDC major finals and is currently World Number 21 but he has not rested on his laurels it seems during lockdown.

King has gone down the route of delivering parcels for Amazon during the Coronavirus pandemic starting in Norwich last week being paid around £120 a day to deliver around 180 parcels as a delivery driver.

Among the items, he could deliver include his own range of Winmau darts which are available on Amazon.

One of his colleagues spoke to The Sun about working with the former World Master: "It was quite a shock seeing such a well-known sports star packing up his van with parcels.

"I imagine there will have been a few punters doing a double-take when top darts pro Mervyn King rings their doorbell with a delivery - but fair play to him.

"It would have been easy to sit around doing nothing but he obviously likes the idea of getting out of the house and earning some money and doesn’t care who sees him."

The role though might not be very long term with darting action set to return next week with King likely involved in the PDC Summer Series.

When asked about his new job, he said: "I don’t really see it’s anyone’s business what I do to be fair. I mean, at the end of the day, we are all trying to make a living."
