Paul Lim will make his 25th appearance at the World Championship in just over a weeks time at the Alexandra Palace when he takes on Luke Humphries.
Lim came through a qualifier in his home of Hong Kong and 'The Singapore Slinger' admitted that he was simply just glad to return to action after spending lockdown in his house without going out.
But for the legend, it was very much that his first focus was when he returned to the country, not so much the tournament but he was glad his confidence paid off.
"I thought because of the Asian Tour not being there, I really didn't know how they were going to select. There was no news on selection or qualifying then suddenly at the last minute, I think PDC got someone who was going to organise and I'm so glad that the Asians have the chance to qualify and compete in the World Championship," said Lim to the Weekly Dartscast.
"It's an honour, I love that tournament. I really want to do better, for the last nine months, I've been stuck in a house."
"I was more concerned what happened when you qualified. I was really thinking ahead that I was going to win and go to England but also what was going to happen with the quarantine which is not a problem for me as long as I quarantine in Hong Kong. But going there, it was kind of a concern. So my mind was all around that and not really whether I'm going to win or not."
"I was confident enough. I've spent so much time on the dart board and I can see myself improving. I was probably counting the chickens before they hatch but still I'm glad I got it so I proved myself right."
