Luke Humphries has become the first player to qualify for the final during the seventh round of Premier League Darts play in Nottingham. Later in the evening, he will play either Luke Littler or Nathan Aspinall.
Humphries was much too strong for Peter Wright in the first semifinal. Thanks to an average of 106.66, it became as much as 6-1 for the reigning world champion against the two-time world champion.
The Englishman took an early 2-0 lead and then was able to run out to 4-1 after Wright missed a chance to make it 2-3. In the sixth leg Wright also missed chances on the double. Double 9 made it 5-2 for Humphries, who ended the match with a 13-darter.
