A 180, 171 and double 10 for a 15 darter saw Littler have a near perfect start after a poor opening trio of 41. He hit two 180’s in a row to leave 141. He had a nine-darter against Aspinall in Bahrain and was giving his stablemate no chance.
Albeit he drifted into one and Aspinall sat at 87 after nine. He went straight into the three so was going to have to use all three and didn’t get one shot. Littler though couldn’t pin either dart to break and Aspinall returned to hold with a 48 checkout.
A 91 checkout for a 15-darter saw Littler lead 2-1. He broke for 3-1 and left Aspinall the crumbs of 170 after nine darts. Littler sealed a third leg on the spin for 4-1. He pinned 88 for 5-1. He began his next throw with a 180 as he looked to seal a 6-1 win.
He made it five perfect darts and concluded it with a 124 checkout for the average record.
