Luke Littler receives two pin badges after throwing two nine darters

After throwing nine darters in Players Championship 1 on Monday, Luke Littler, Leighton Bennett and Mickey Mansell each were awarded silver pin badges from the PDC.

Littler's nine-darter came against Michele Turetta in his 6-1 win in the last 32, with Bennett achieving perfection against Lukas Wenig - becoming the youngest to hit a nine-darter on the PDC before Littler's effort an hour later - and Mansell sealing the feat against Krzysztof Ratajski.

In addition to his silver pin badge, Littler received a gold pin badge in recognition of the nine-darter he struck on the World Series in Bahrain when he beat Nathan Aspinall in January.

While there were numerous nine-darter attempts from Gary Anderson in yesterday's Players Championship 2, and while Littler missed D12 for a second nine-darter of the day in PC1 on Monday, we are yet to know if the PDC will continue to give out pin badges for nailing a perfect leg.

But, with four nine-darters hit in the PDC in just the first six weeks of 2024, there is plenty of time for us to see plenty more hit this calendar year.
