Wayne Mardle was full of praise for
Dave Chisnall after his victory last night against Ross Smith where he reached the Quarter-Finals of the World Grand Prix facing off against Gerwyn Price.
Mardle said as well though that despite defeat Smith will have his day after improving his game exponetially in the past 18 months.
"He is so watchable, he is so good. He kept up a decent standard there and unfortunately for Ross Smith, he wilted just a bit. At two sets up, he was starting better than Dave and Dave started to start well. Once a scorer starts hitting that starting double and then finishing, you're in trouble," said Mardle on Sky Sports.
"Ross is going to have his day, he's showing so much more composure than he has done previously. His game is in a miles better place than he's ever been."
He also looked ahead to tonight's action and in particular, Jose de Sousa against Jonny Clayton where he thinks the bookies have got it wrong.
"Jose maybe will start favourite and I disagree with that. I think Jonny Clayton is playing better than him at the moment. I think Jonny will look at this and think this is a chance to get through and progress and reach yet another major final."
