The German Darts Grand Prix was played in Munich over the Easter weekend. It was Luke Humphries who won the tournament with a thumping win over Michael van Gerwen, but it was a German who managed to break two records.
Martin Schindler had a good run in the three day PDC European Tour tournament. He was the only German to reach the semi-finals, where he lost 2-7 to van Gerwen.
This semi-final match was Schindler's 96th match on the European Tour. He thus passed the record set by Max Hopp, who had previously been the German with the most matches on the European Tour. In addition, The Wall now has 45 victories on the European Tour to his name, which means he has also passed a mark set by Hopp. Schindler can therefore justifiably point out that no German has more victories on the European Tour than him.
Ricardo Pietreczko's performance is also impressive. While Schindler has been active on the European Tour since 2014, Pikachu only made his debut there four years later, in 2018, and has already played 28 matches on the European Tour in this period, of which the Nuremberg native has won more than half, namely 16 matches.
