"Maybe there's a bit of hype about Adrian Lewis being a champion before": Heta admits Lewis' past results always a factor despite dominant win

Damon Heta produced one of the performances of the tournament so far to sweep aside Adrian Lewis and reach the third round at the PDC World Darts Championship.

Heta produced a 96 average, four 180's, 56% on the doubles with two ton-plus finishes in 110 and 102 as he laid down a marker and believes he is the kind of player to be the best when it matters most.

"When it comes to the big games and big names, there's a thought that I have to play really well. Maybe I take it easy on people that I think they're below me on the rankings. Maybe that's a thought that goes through my head," said Heta post match.

But Heta admits that he was waiting for Lewis to come back and knew the hype was there which could've potentially affected his display.

"I was always waiting I could be 2-0 up, two sets up and he can come back, there's no reason for it so I really wanted to keep my intensity, I thought I threw really quick in that game. I really did. I think it just all happened for me and I kept the pressure on and maybe there's a bit of hype about Adrian Lewis being a champion before and can he recapture this and do this."

"I know what I've done in those TV and not dwell on it. I know what I can bring and what I can perform. I'm not making it a thing, I just say I've been unlucky in some circumstances. I'll be stronger for it."
