Kyle McKinstry alongside Wessel Nijman was suspended by the DRA on Tuesday due to being suspected of match fixing during the MODUS A Night at the Darts/Icons of Darts League matches and MDA Promotions have released a statement amid this.
McKinstry was flagged up during a match against David Evans at the end of April; as well as one against Nijman; which means he has to answer two charges. He has also failed to provide a detailed phone bill to the DRA.
His management said they were 'deeply disappointed' about the match fixing allegations; and would accept any decision made.
"MDA Promotions are deeply disappointed with regard to Kyle McKinstry and match fixing allegations. This management prides itself on sporting integrity at all times; and has done for its entire involvement in any sporting activity, darts or otherwise.
Therefore such allegations for one of our players is to be taken very seriously and we will, of course, accept any decision by the Darts Regulation Authority.
MDA Promotions will not be making any further comment on the matter until after the full investigation is completed by the Darts Regulation Authority."
Nijman since this news has
released a statement admitting to the offence; while McKinstry has indicated his intention to appeal the decision.
