Nentjes sees himself as favourite Monday night: ''If I play my own game well, I should be able to win that one''

Geert Nentjes makes his return to the World Darts Championship on Monday night. After two missed editions he makes his third appearance at the World Darts Championship. Omroep Flevoland visited him to look back and look ahead.

''The first time against Nathan Aspinall; lost 3-0 and that was really not good. The second time against Kim Huybrechts; I lost 3-2. Then I really had chances to win,'' Nentjes remembers his first two World Championship appearances.

This time, Nentjes traveled to London with different expectations. ''I'm in a good position. I do think I'm favorite in that match. Now I just have to make sure I win that match. Three weeks ago he (Leonard Gates, ed.) was at the Grand Slam of Darts. He did well there, but lost three times. I'm going into that match with a lot of confidence, though. If I play my own game well, I should be able to win it.''

Whether the ultimate goal is to reach the second round? ''Yes absolutely. If I win the first round, I'll play against Stephen Bunting. I can see myself having a good chance against that as well. If I win my first match that would also give me a lot of confidence towards that second match.''
