The Netherlands qualified very convincingly for the quarterfinals at the World Cup of Darts. Dirk van Duijvenbode and Danny Noppert defeated Ireland 2-0.
"We both started a bit unsure, but then we were completely unleashed," Van Duijvenbode opens to TOTO Dart Kings. "Because Danny won his match I was under less pressure. Moreover, I had always won the previous matches against Steve Lennon, so I was confident. Especially with our scoring ability, they couldn't keep up with us."
No underestimation
Noppert, who won 4-1 against William O'Connor, was also obviously satisfied. "It took a while before I got into the match properly, but afterwards I threw a number of 180's and I got a head of steam. If Dirk and I keep playing like that we'll be hard to beat. Of course we are favorites against Northern Ireland in the quarterfinals, but we don't underestimate any opponent."
