Eight countries are vying for the title at the
World Cup of Darts. Sunday afternoon the four quarter finals are scheduled in Frankfurt.
The Netherlands will have their turn at the beginning of the afternoon. After Danny Noppert and Dirk van Duijvenbode's convincing victory over Ireland, Northern Ireland awaits in the last eight. Daryl Gurney and Brendan Dolan eliminated New Zealand in the second round.
The winner of the match between the Netherlands and Northern Ireland will face Wales or Germany in the last four. Two years ago these two countries met for the last time at this tournament. At that time Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton were too strong for Max Hopp and Gabriel Clemens after the two singles. In the meantime, Hopp has had to make way for Martin Schindler.
On the other side of the tournament schedule, Belgians Dimitri van den Bergh and Kim Huybrechts will battle the Australian duo Damon Heta and Simon Whitlock for a place in the semi-finals. The final quarterfinal is between England (Michael Smith and James Wade) and defending champion Scotland (Peter Wright and John Henderson).
