England survived a scare against Latvia being taken all the way to the pairs decider with
James Wade losing to Madars Razma to trigger it.
But
Michael Smith takes a pragmatic approach in that as long as they win, it's the main thing as they next face Scotland in a crunch clash.
"I believe in this team 100%, he's fuming that he lost but we're in the Quarter-Finals. It doesn't matter if it was a 4-3, 4-3 and a 4-3 in the pairs as well, as long as we got through we still go the W," said Smith to Online Darts.
"He keeps saying he let me down, he's let no-one down. We're still winning."
But for Wade, he said he will put it right after having the opposite view that he performed poorly and let people down.
"I feel embarassed. The whole of the UK and me and him are representing the country and I go up and play like that. It's just heartbreaking, it hurts so much," said Wade.
"I know I'm being a weapon, I know I'm being a tool. Tomorrow I'm not going to be the same person. I will be there and I'm going to start smashing heads."
