Nicholson and Hubbard claim consecutive victories to begin Icons of Darts League Group Four

Nicholson started the day with a 5-4 victory over yesterday's impressive winner Arron Monk who himself averaged 98.5 in defeat. He followed that up by seeing off another leading light from yesterday's action in Diogo Portela.

This was in a 5-3 win which saw a 92.8 average and 55 percent on the doubles as he moved clear at the top of the overall table as a result.

Hubbard is having his best day so far if it continues having edged past Adam Huckvale 5-3 in his first game and then following that up with pouncing on Arron Monk not sealing the deal, the former World Youth Champion recovered from 3-0 down and survived six match darts to claim a 5-4 victory.

In between that Adam Huckvale also saw off Diogo Portela in a 5-1 victory pouncing on an under par performance from the Brazilian. He hit three 180's and a high checkout of 124 en route.

The Icons of Darts League is a competition that runs on 24 different days from Monday April 6 through to Saturday May 2. Each playing week consists of six players. There are five players on each matchday with one player taking a rest.

Each day consists of four matches for each player with the player with the most wins claiming the group win for that day.
