Nico Kurz reaps reward of practice: "Rewarding yourself, that's a great feeling."

Nico Kurz managed to reach the last 16 of a Euro Tour tournament at the German Darts Championship for the first time in his career. The German defeated Jonny Clayton 6-5 on Saturday night.

"I am so happy that I managed to put up such a performance against one of the best dart players in the world," Kurz said afterwards. The Nidderau resident also did not forget to praise the crowd. "With the support! Thank you so much."

Kurz is more engaged with his sport these days than the moment he made his debut at the 2020 World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace. Kurz is putting in more hours in than before.

"What I think pays off most of all is the training. Just training and realizing that it makes a difference. Just putting laziness aside, going to the training board, playing and rewarding yourself, that's a great feeling."
