No World Cup and possibly no World Championship for Anderson: 'If the World Championship goes abroad, I will not go'

As long as the corona-pandemic continues, Gary Anderson refuses to travel abroad. The Flying Scotsman wants to stick to that, even if the PDC World Darts Championship will be played outside the United Kingdom.

With about two months until the World Championship Darts, there is still no date and location known for the World Championship. The PDC previously left the possibility open for a World Championship outside Alexandra Palace, when fans are allowed in the venue in another country.

The World Cup of Darts will be played in Graz, Austria, in November and that has made Anderson decide not to participate, he confirmed to RTL reporter Arjan van der Giessen.

The same decision will therefore follow if the PDC World Darts Championship is moved to another country. "If the World Championship goes abroad, it will be. I'm not going. It's that simple'', said the 49-year-old Scot. "It seems like we have to travel as athletes. But we are just people. There is no difference. I will not go."
