Noppert on potential World Cup of Darts debut after first round win over Searle at World Grand Prix: "It will mean a lot to play with Michael, we will see what happens"

Danny Noppert is through after a comeback victory over Ryan Searle where he had to come from a set down to see off 'Heavy Metal' at the World Grand Prix.

Noppert was pleased after the tie finished especially after Searle's opening set where he produced some brilliant darts to go ahead.

"I'm really happy with this win," said Noppert to Online Darts post match. "The first set he played really well. After the first set, it was a good comeback from me, he missed the doubles and I took the chances."

It was duly noted that Noppert was emotional after the match and was showing some real fire but he said that it may be what he needs to reach the next level.

Also he discussed the World Cup of Darts and said that while it will be a massive achievement, it's not at the top of his agenda right now.

"Last week on the European Tour, I was also emotional. Sometimes I need more pressure to do good things."

"It will mean a lot to play with Michael (van Gerwen). We will see what happens. I'm not busy with that, I'm busy with this tournament."
